Principal's Message
Dear SCHS Families and Students,

A new school year is a time to reflect on our practices and beliefs, how our goals are accomplished, and what we ultimately want to achieve. It is a time to renew our commitment to Catholic education.

Our vision of Catholic education is straightforward - we are "committed to a balance of religious formation, academic excellence, physical development and social involvement for the students' personal growth." While we agree that classes, grades, discipline, and the host of other things that go hand-in-hand with school are important, above all, we exist to promote the Gospel of Our Lord, Jesus Christ.

By the time a student of Santa Clara High School graduates, he or she will have acquired the following lifelong skills:
  1. Problem-Solving - using a non-emotional, reasoned approach
  2. Communication Skills - implementing both oral and written language, as well as non-verbal expression
  3. Citizenship Skills - essential for living in a pluralistic society, and key to fulfilling religious and civic obligations
We here at SCHS have set up rules, regulations, and policies in order for our school community to function properly; some are to set clear boundaries and expectations for conduct, others are to promote and reinforce Gospel values and Christian virtues, still more are designed to promote safety and student welfare, and the remaining are designed to build character in our young men and women.

The policies, rules, and regulations of Santa Clara High School are clearly stated in the handbook. It is implicit in your child being enrolled in this school that you have agreed to abide by them. The handbook constitutes that agreement, as well as forms the basis of a contract between the school and parents/guardians. It binds families and students to follow all school policies, rules, and regulations, either expressed or implied.

I look forward to working with you in order to provide your child with a superb Catholic education. I encourage you to be involved, and to take an active part in your child's high school years.

May the Lord bless you,

Siobhain O'Reilly-Hill
Proud Principal
